Fragments of the Acceleration – A Project by Brandon Bauer
Featuring work that Brandon Bauer, associate professor of art at St. Norbert College, completed on a recent sabbatical.
Through video works, photo sequences and graphics, the project Fragments of the Acceleration explores the atomic origins of what has been referred to as “the Great Acceleration of the Anthropocene” – the dramatic continual surge in growth rate across a large range of measures of human activity. The exhibition presents a fragmentary view of the epoch of acceleration in which we live.
The opening reception will begin with a special presentation:

The 2019 -2020 Killeen Fellows, Brandon Bauer, Angel Saavedra Cisneros, & Wendy Scattergood offer a presentation addressing this year’s Killeen Lecture theme “Must We Speak? Civic Responsibility in Times of Political Polarization”. The presentation will address the scientific consensus, civility, and political polarization in the debates about climate change.
