September 8 – 3 Minute Film Festival, Santa Barbara, California
A long-running community-centered festival that celebrates short works of all genres, every film clocks in at three minutes or less.
October 15 – BIDEODROMO International Experimental Film and Video Festival, Bilbao, Spain
An international showcase dedicated to experimental practices in moving image, BIDEODROMO brings together artists pushing the boundaries of form, politics, and perception.
November 20–23 – Denver Underground Film Festival, Denver, Colorado
Now in its third decade, DUFF highlights independent and underground cinema, offering a platform for alternative voices and experimental approaches in film and video.
Social Media Delivers People reimagines Richard Serra and Carlota Fay Schoolman’s seminal 1973 video Television Delivers People in the context of our algorithm-driven media landscape. I’m honored to see it finding an audience across such a range of venues, and grateful to the programmers who are bringing this work into conversation with other contemporary video art and experimental film and video.
